I’m proud to be a word nerd and avid reader. I love to write and tell stories, whether those stories need 100 characters or hundreds of words.
In my role as a communications specialist with the American Physical Therapy Association, I get to put my love of words to work.
Before I joined APTA, I was a marketer at Oxford University Press. For almost four years, I developed and deployed strategic marketing efforts for a wide range of academic journals. In addition to writing social media, digital marketing, yearly reports, and much more, I created copywriting and editing resources with my colleagues to help them feel more confident in their writing.
OUP, I earned my master’s degree in strategic communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I learned about analytics, marketing, social marketing, public relations, and UX design. For my thesis, I conducted four focus groups with undergraduate students to learn about their perceptions of mental health and stigma on campus. Outside of class, I was also working for The Graduate School where I wrote about graduate students and the people who support them.
If you want the one-page version of what I’ve done, read my resume here.
(I’m also happy to talk about Hamilton, the Huskers, and my favorite book of the moment.)
